Are you an Energy, Environmental and Sustainability Manager looking for your next exciting role within a large public sector organisation? Working within the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, this is an excellent opportunity top join a company that provides essential services across Northern Ireland.
Working within Estate Services, you will be responsible for energy and Environmental related activities within the Trust. You will provide specialist knowledge, implementing, reviewing and developing a comprehensive Energy Management and Environmental Management Strategy, providing the focus for the environmental management team.
Acting as the Trust's nominated Environmental Management Officer, you will provide expert advice on the Ambulance Service's Estate Strategy, developing and reviewing a sustainability strategy for the Trust. You will also manage legislative requirements relating to energy and the environment.
Other focus areas may include
- Site visits and energy audits
- Monitoring energy consumption and recommending improvements
- Managing heat, light, power and water budget
- Negotiations with utility companies and procurement, managing contracts
- Developing a staff awareness programme regarding energy, the environment and sustainability
The person
You will have excellent communication skills as well as up to date knowledge of energy conservation, sustainable development and environmental management techniques. To be considered you must demonstrate that you have:
- A degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering or similar (related to the built environment), and 3 years energy/environmental management experience OR a HNC/HND in the same fields with 5 years energy/environmental management experience
- Hold a current driving licence and have access to a car. If your disability prohibits you from driving, this will be waived if you have access to a vehicle that allows you to carry out the duties of the post
- Knowledge of environmental and energy management systems - ISO 50001/ISO 14001
- Working knowledge of current health and safety, energy and environmental legislation, industry standards, procurement and contracting procedures
The role
Location: Belfast
Duration: Temporary, initially for 6 months
Pay: £23.60 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
