MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with a leading digital learning and learning technology provider to recruit Business Development Manager for the Public Sector. This organisation specialises in the design and delivery of custom e-learning content, learning management platforms, and consultancy services, supporting organisations to deliver engaging, scalable learning programmes across their workforce.

As a Business Development Manager, you will work closely with public sector bodies, healthcare organisations, and large enterprises to improve workforce capability through innovative digital learning solutions. As demand for modern learning platforms and tailored digital content continues to grow, this is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation focused on expanding its presence across the public sector market.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close, targeting public sector decision-makers across the UK and Ireland
  • Identify, develop, and close large-scale opportunities aligned with quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Position the company as a long-term strategic partner by promoting custom digital learning content, learning platforms, and consultancy services
  • Engage prospective clients through sector events, marketing campaigns, networking, and social selling
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across government, healthcare, and corporate organisations
  • Deliver consultative sales presentations, proposals, and tailored learning solutions based on client requirements
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support solution design and strengthen market presence

Essential Skills & Criteria

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in business development or sales, ideally within e-learning, digital learning, or SaaS solutions
  • Proven track record of achieving personal sales targets and closing new business
  • Strong consultative selling and relationship-building capability
  • Experience managing complex sales processes and engaging senior stakeholders
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple sales opportunities simultaneously

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience selling learning or digital solutions into government, corporate, or healthcare sectors
  • Experience closing enterprise opportunities (£100K+)
