MCS Group has a temporary post available for an Assistant Programme Manager / Policy Data Analyst. This professional will join a key public body within the Planning, Performance, and Corporate Services Directorate, primarily based in Belfast. You will use your expertise in data analytics to manage the development and delivery of complex statistical reports for both emergency and corporate activity. This role is vital in providing specialist interpretation of information for Executive Directors and external Health and Social Care agencies.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a regional public body, offering high-level technical exposure and the chance to influence strategic planning through innovative data reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed corporate activity reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis for senior leadership and external stakeholders.

  • Manage large, complex datasets, ensuring data cleaning and accuracy while investigating activity trends within the Trust.
  • Communicate complex findings to staff and stakeholders at all levels, translating technical data into coherent, relevant presentations for non-specialists.
  • Implement and redesign statistical information and local procedures in response to new legislation or guidance.
  • Maintain data security and confidentiality, managing sensitive datasets in accordance with GDPR and Data Protection regulations.

Essential Criteria (Must be clearly demonstrated in application)

Candidates must meet one of the following qualification/experience requirements:

  • A University Degree in Computing, IT, Information Management, or a related info/statistics discipline plus 1 year of quantifiable experience in information analysis or statistics.
  • OR 5 years of quantifiable experience within a discipline relevant to information analysis or statistics.

Additionally, applicants must have:

  • In-depth working knowledge of information production, report writing, or inferential statistics.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically creating/manipulating Access databases and Excel Pivot tables.
  • Experience with web-based applications.
  • Experience with GIS.
  • Sound knowledge of data security and confidentiality issues.

  • Location: Trust Headquarters, Belfast.
  • Salary: Band 6 £19.78/h (PAYE) | 37 Hours/Week | Monday-Friday
