The Person
The ideal candidate will be:
- ACA or ACCA qualified accountant
- Proven experience preparing, reviewing, and advising on management and year-end accounts
- Preference for candidates from small practices with mixed-role experience
- Strong leadership skills, including team management, mentoring, and workload delegation
- Excellent organisational abilities and commitment to high technical standards
- Outstanding communication and client relationship skills
- Commercially aware with ability to identify growth opportunities
- Proficient in accountancy software and workflow management tools
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Desirable:
- Experience managing a team within an accountancy practice
- Involvement in workflow or process improvement initiatives
- Exposure to a variety of sectors and industries
The Role
You will have a wide range of duties, such as;
- Lead client advisory services, including strategic planning, high-value advice, and timely, accurate deliverables.
- Manage financial compliance work such as VAT returns, year-end accounts, tax returns, and quarterly management accounts.
- Act as primary contact for key clients, building long-term relationships and tailoring advice to their needs.
- Represent the firm at client meetings, networking events, and professional forums.
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of accountants and trainees, promoting a culture of accountability and professional growth.
