The Person

The ideal candidate will be:

• ACA or ACCA qualified accountant
• Proven experience preparing, reviewing, and advising on management and year-end accounts
• Preference for candidates from small practices with mixed-role experience
• Strong leadership skills, including team management, mentoring, and workload delegation
• Excellent organisational abilities and commitment to high technical standards
• Outstanding communication and client relationship skills
• Commercially aware with ability to identify growth opportunities
• Proficient in accountancy software and workflow management tools
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Desirable:
• Experience managing a team within an accountancy practice
• Involvement in workflow or process improvement initiatives
• Exposure to a variety of sectors and industries

The Role

You will have a wide range of duties, such as;

• Lead client advisory services, including strategic planning, high-value advice, and timely, accurate deliverables.
• Manage financial compliance work such as VAT returns, year-end accounts, tax returns, and quarterly management accounts.
• Act as primary contact for key clients, building long-term relationships and tailoring advice to their needs.
• Represent the firm at client meetings, networking events, and professional forums.
• Manage, coach, and develop a team of accountants and trainees, promoting a culture of accountability and professional growth.
