At MCS, our client services extend beyond just recruitment. As a valued business partner to many FDI’s, US-based tech firms and local businesses adding headcount to their teams, our Payroll Support solution provides flexibility, allowing our clients to continue recruiting, no matter what the circumstances.

Who would benefit from MCS Payroll Services?

Non- UK businesses with a satellite team based in Northern Ireland/ UK.

We partner with many US-based tech firms to provide a payroll only service for their contractors and temporary employees based throughout the UK. By partnering with Honeycomb/ MCS, our clients can be confident that their contingent workforce is paid on time, and in line with UK legislative requirements, with no increased burden to their core HR/Payroll teams.

FDI’s establishing a site in Belfast

As the recruitment partner of choice to many FDI’s, our interim payroll solution provides valuable support to our clients as they focus on building their core teams. By facilitating the Honeycomb/MCS payroll service, our FDI clients have the flexibility to recruit an inhouse payroll function as required when the business scales up locally.

Budget Restrictions/ Permanent Headcount Freeze

Sometimes, businesses face unexpected challenges which will pause their permanent recruitment process, regardless of the workload or business need. Our Payroll Support solution enables clients to refer their preferred candidate to MCS for payroll processing, allowing them to onboard the candidate and focus on their business as usual activities, until permanent headcount restrictions are lifted.

What we do.

Once the referred candidate has been signposted to our team, we will agree on an on-boarding process and timeframe to include,

  • Establish payment terms, including basic pay, overtime, bonuses or shift allowances, holiday and pension contributions
  • Establish any required uplifts under the Agency Workers Regulations, and trigger points to apply (for temporary workers)
  • Completion of all paperwork (including Contract for Services, ID Check, Proof of RTW checks and qualification checks where applicable – for temporary workers. This can be extended to permanent employees if required)
  • Pre-Employment Security Screening, as required. The level of checks and associated costs will be role/ company dependent.
  • Process payroll in line with agreed pay cycle – weekly, fortnightly or monthly – ensuring all legislative deductions are made.
  • Issue detailed payslips to the candidate
  • Provide a payroll helpline to respond to any queries or issues
  • Manage the AWR trigger points and apply uplifts as required
  • Provide payroll/ cost reporting and MI to relevant stakeholders as required
  • Manage and retain employee records in line with GDPR and legislative requirements
