Salary: £40K-42K

MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting for a Transport Manager on behalf of a leading manufacturing business in the local area that are a specialist in their field of manufacturing.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport professional to take ownership of a busy and varied transport operation, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and exceptional customer service.

What You Will Do:

As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for leading the company's transport function. You will oversee fleet compliance, driver management, and route planning to deliver a safe, efficient, and cost-effective service.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the day-to-day transport operation, ensuring compliance with legal and statutory requirements.
• Leading, developing, and supporting the transport team to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Monitoring driver performance, CPC compliance, training, and tachograph data.
• Planning distribution routes to maximise efficiency and meet customer requirements.
• Managing vehicle maintenance, inspections, and operator's licence compliance.
• Analysing KPIs and reports to drive improvements in performance, cost control, and customer satisfaction.
• Building strong relationships with senior management, internal departments, and external customers.

What You Need:

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience in a transport Supervisor/Management role within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Excellent knowledge of transport legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience with route planning, driver management, and KPI monitoring.
• Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• A proactive approach with a focus on efficiency, safety, and customer service.
• HGV Licence (highly desirable)
• CPC (highly desirable)
