Overview
MCS Group are delighted to be recruiting a Technical Sales Engineer for a rapidly growing software and security company. This Technical Sales Engineer will be integral to the Enterprise Sales team, acting as a key liaison between the product, sales, and technical teams to drive business growth. The ideal Technical Sales Engineer will have the opportunity to shape this newly created role within a high-growth, dynamic organisation, making a direct and significant impact. While UK-based candidates are preferred, applicants from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland will also be considered, with the expectation of regular travel (a couple of times per month) across the UK.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers, the product team, and the enterprise sales team, ensuring smooth communication and efficient deal progression.
- Support enterprise customers through their technical queries and provide guidance during trials, ensuring that issues are addressed quickly to facilitate conversions.
- Assist in pre-sales activities, including product demonstrations, technical support during client meetings, and creating bespoke technical solutions where necessary.
- Collaborate with the product team to feed back customer insights and challenges, helping to improve product offerings.
- Establish and maintain processes to improve customer support during trials and technical evaluations.
- Work independently to develop strategies for enhancing customer relationships and driving technical success throughout the sales cycle.
- If based in NI/ROI will have to travel to the UK a couple of times per month
Essential Criteria and Skills
- Proven experience with hardware or software products (experience in both would be highly desirable).
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and create processes in a newly established role.
- Strong technical understanding and the ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships both internally and externally.
- Experience in a similar technical sales, sales engineering, or customer-facing role within the security technology or hardware/software industries.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomous environment, taking initiative to drive results without extensive oversight.
- Comfortable with regular travel for customer visits and industry events across the UK.
