Technical Lead - PHP Development

MCS Group is delighted to announce an exclusive opportunity for a driven PHP specialist to join a growing Irish tech scale-up as a technical lead to mentor, coach and lead a team to further growth and success.

(Hybrid 1 day per week in office - County Louth)

The Role:

• Lead and mentor a team of PHP developers, ensuring best coding practices and quality standards.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance PHP applications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and technical solutions.
• Review and optimise existing codebases for performance and maintainability.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and frameworks to improve development efficiency.
• Manage deployments and ensure smooth CI/CD processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.

The Person:

• Extensive experience with PHP and frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony.
• Strong knowledge of front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and modern libraries.
• Experience with databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, and writing efficient queries.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile environment.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
• Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and guide developers.
