Senior Project Manager

MCS Group is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex ICT systems and transformation projects. Based in South Belfast, this is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for projects that directly support critical public services and organisational strategy. This Senior Project Manager, will take the lead on a range of large-scale ICT projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work with diverse stakeholders, suppliers, and specialist advisors to deliver innovative solutions and support digital transformation.

This role is ideal for a highly motivated leader with the ability to deliver complex ICT-enabled change projects while managing multiple stakeholders.

The Role:

• You will lead the planning and delivery of ICT projects with 6 figure budgets.
• You will develop business cases and identify ICT solutions aligned to strategic goals.
• Additionally, you will work with stakeholders to ensure risks, capacity, and supportability are addressed.
• This role requires someone who is skilled in managing and nurturing supplier relationships, procurement, and contractual agreements.
• You will ensure compliance with PRINCE2 and programme/project management standards.
• This PM will also oversee financial planning, project reporting, and governance.
• You will also support post-project evaluations and continuous improvement.
• You will also be responsible for managing and developing project teams, ensuring strong performance and staff engagement.

The Person

Essential Criteria

• Experience leading ICT projects with budgets over £100,000.
• At least 3 years' experience managing teams.
• Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
• A university degree/professional qualification with 3+ years in project management within the last 5 years, OR 5+ years in project management within the last 7 years.
• Strong track record in managing change within organisations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Broad technical knowledge and awareness of emerging technologies.

Salary: Band 8A (entry point on scale £53,755)
Duration: 6 months initially
Location: South Belfast
