Senior DevOps Engineer

MCS Group is partnering with a well-established global sports digital platform as they look to hire a Senior DevOps Engineer to support the modernisation and scaling of their cloud environment. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with engineering, product and operations teams to champion a cloud-first DevOps strategy, lead key AWS migration initiatives, enhance reliability and observability, and help shape best-practice standards across multiple platforms. It's an exciting opportunity to join the business as it moves into a new phase of growth and transformation.

Please note that this is a hybrid role in Belfast and, unfortunately, sponsorship is not available.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver secure, scalable AWS infrastructure
• Lead the transition of legacy and customer-hosted systems to cloud-native solutions
• Develop and maintain Terraform-based infrastructure-as-code
• Evolve system architecture to improve reliability, performance and cost efficiency
• Modernise and streamline CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
• Advance monitoring, logging, tracing and incident-response capabilities
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering excellence
• Support alignment of DevOps tooling, standards and processes across teams

The Ideal Person

• Strong experience in DevOps, SRE or platform engineering
• Strong proficiency with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, RDS, CloudWatch)
• Solid background in Linux, networking and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with Terraform or CloudFormation
• Containerisation experience (Docker/ECS/Kubernetes)
• Skilled in CI/CD pipelines and automation
• Proficiency in Bash, Python or Go scripting

Salary - £65,000-£75,000
