MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting a Pharmacy Assistant (Band 2) on behalf of the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, supporting its Healthcare in Prison service.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated pharmacy team delivering high quality medicines management and contributing directly to patient care within a secure setting.
The Role:
* Assist with the receipt, storage and issue of pharmaceutical products, ensuring accurate record keeping.
* Support the dispensing, labelling and packaging of prescribed items under appropriate supervision.
* Maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure a clean, safe and orderly environment in all work areas.
* Participate in the treatment room top up service and process medication returns when required.
* Assist with the preparation of pharmaceutical products and cleaning of equipment.
* Monitor stock rotation and expiry dates to support safe and efficient medicines handling.
* Support waste management in line with Trust policies.
* Communicate effectively with internal staff and external suppliers regarding stock and deliveries.
* Provide a prescription portering service to treatment rooms.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
The Person:
* 3 GSCE grades passed, including maths and english.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a car, unless exempt under disability legislation.
