Mechanical Design Engineer

MCS Group is proud to be working with a highly successful manufacturing company to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for their Magherafelt site.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing new products, improving existing products and ensuring all designs meet the highest standards.

You will;

• Design and develop new products from concept to production, ensuring customer requirements and industry standards are met.
• Create details 3D models and CAD drawings, using software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD/ or similar
• Select appropriate materials for products and components
• Develop and test prototypes to evaluate design concepts
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, and collaborate to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective
• Prepare detailed documentation

Essential Requirements

• Educated to Degree level in Mechanical Design Engineering, Product Design Engineer or relevant
• Have a minimum of 2 years experience in product design
• Proficient in 3D modelling and CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes

Desirable

• Experience with designing injection moulded components
• Knowledge of designing aluminium extrusion profiles and PVS extrusion profiles.
