MCS Group is delighted to be working exclusively with an award-winning organisation based in Belfast to recruit a dynamic and results driven Key Account Manager to lead and grow the business across the region. Acting as the primary contact for key account clients, the role ensures effective contract management, margin optimisation, and collaborative solution delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for both central and local clients, fostering strong, long-term relationships.
  • Conduct regular site visits, with support from Business Development Managers when needed.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service through proactive account management, strategic planning, and accurate forecasting.
  • Meet or exceed sales and margin objectives across key accounts.
  • Expand existing client portfolios and win new profitable business, including involvement in major tender opportunities.
  • Identify and capitalise on strategic growth opportunities
  • Lead contract renewals and negotiation processes, ensuring both profitability and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee daily account operations such as product listings, contract execution, delivery coordination, and performance tracking.
  • Collaborate with logistics, customer service, telesales, and supply chain teams to resolve issues and improve service performance.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in managing slow-moving or date-sensitive stock.
  • Generate accurate and timely sales reports for internal stakeholders and external clients.

Essential Criteria

  • Full clean driving licence.
  • 2+ years' experience in working in key accounts within the FMCG sector Or
  • 5+ years' experience as a business development manager within sales / FMCG sector.
  • Proven track record in proactive field sales, new business development and achievement of targets.
  • Proficient in MS package (Word, Excel, Outlook etc)
  • Excellent communication and relationship building abilities.
