Job Title: IT Systems Engineer
Location: Carrickfergus (on-site)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 DOE
Type: Permanent

Overview:
We're working with a leading manufacturing organisation in Carrickfergus who are seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join their internal IT department. The successful candidate will support and develop the company's on-premise and network infrastructure, ensuring the smooth running of critical systems across production and business operations.
Key Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day and strategic support of IT infrastructure (servers, networking, security, and systems).
• Maintain and improve Windows Server environments and network performance (Layer 2/3).
• Manage and troubleshoot firewall, backup, and disaster recovery systems.
• Provide end-user support across departments.
• Lead or contribute to IT improvement and efficiency projects.

Key Skills / Experience:

• 5+ years working within IT Infrastructure (ideally in a production/manufacturing setting).
• Experience supporting Windows Server, VMware/Hyper-V/Proxmox, and network infrastructure.
• Firewall management (Sophos XG or similar).Disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Strong communication skills and ability to prioritise under pressure.
