IT Support Technician
Location: Lisburn, Northern Ireland
Salary/Grade: Scale 4 / £13.54p/h
Hours: 36.25 hrs per week.
Contract: Up to 6 months, with the possibility to extend
Are you an experienced IT Support Technician looking to take the next step in your career? We're recruiting for a skilled professional to join a busy IT team, providing technical and customer-focused support across a wide range of business-critical applications and systems.
The Role
As IT Support Technician, you'll play a key part in ensuring their IT services run smoothly. From supporting line-of-business applications (HR, finance, procurement, operational systems) to desktop support, system integration, and data services, you'll deliver a professional and efficient service to colleagues across the organisation.
You'll be involved in:
- Providing technical support for applications, databases, and user accounts.
- Managing access controls and ensuring systems remain secure and available.
- Installing, maintaining, and supporting hardware and software.
- Conducting data analysis and contributing to system development.
- Working with suppliers to test and implement new solutions.
- Helping shape IT policies, procedures, and standards.
About You
We're looking for someone who can combine strong technical ability with excellent communication and customer service skills.
Essential:
- HNC (or higher) in a computer-related subject.
- 2+ years' experience in:
- Networking and domain administration
- Hardware/software installation & maintenance
- IT communications
- End-user support in a multi-user environment
- Knowledge of Windows client-server environments and application support.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Valid driving licence or access to suitable transport.
Desirable:
- Experience working within the public sector or local government.
