Intranet Platform Owner

Location: Belfast
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000

The Role

We are working with a leading global professional services organisation to recruit an Intranet Platform Owner to join their technology function in Belfast. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping and owning the strategy, governance, and day-to-day management of a global intranet platform that supports colleagues across multiple regions.

The successful candidate will act as the product owner for the intranet, ensuring it delivers as a central hub for communication, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing, while aligning with business strategy and driving user adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the vision, roadmap, and success metrics for the intranet platform.

  • Chair and coordinate the intranet governance group, engaging senior stakeholders across the business.

  • Establish and implement governance frameworks for content management, compliance, and accessibility.

  • Ensure intranet content is accurate, consistent, and up to date across all departments.

  • Oversee technical delivery and integrations (e.g. SharePoint Online, Microsoft Viva, Microsoft 365).

  • Drive adoption of AI capabilities such as Microsoft Copilot to improve knowledge discovery, search, summarisation, and productivity.

  • Collaborate with HR, IT, Communications, and business leaders to ensure the intranet meets organisational needs.

  • Deliver training, guidance, and internal comms to improve usability and engagement.

  • Track and report usage, adoption, and engagement through analytics tools (e.g. Power BI), providing actionable insights to senior leadership.

  • Manage vendor relationships and work with internal IT teams to ensure smooth operations, upgrades, and innovation.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience managing or owning an intranet or digital workplace platform (e.g. SharePoint Online, Unily, LumApps, Viva Engage).

  • Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, compliance, content management, and metadata management.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 ecosystem (SharePoint, Teams, Viva Engage, Entra ID).

  • Practical experience with Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-driven workplace tools.

  • Knowledge of UX/UI principles and accessibility standards.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior level.

  • Strong project management or product ownership background.

  • Experience with analytics and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI).

  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PRINCE2, Agile, or Microsoft 365 are desirable.

Salary & Benefits
