Interim Accountant Role - Carryduff area - Immediate Need

Fully Qualified Accountants, Part Qualified Accountants and Candidates Qualified by Experience will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable function, ensuring efficient processing of invoices, payment of suppliers and up to date management of debt collection.
  • Payroll processing & reconciliation of payroll taxes.
  • Reconciliations of bank accounts, debtors & creditors to ensure an accurate month & year end close.
  • Prepare journal entries & accruals.
  • Liaise with the General Manager to generate monthly management accounts, financial & cashflow forecasts.
  • Ensure General Ledger is accurate.
  • Maintain fixed assets schedule.
  • Play a key role with year-end financial audits.
  • Costing & Projections
  • Carry out the necessary HMRC returns re VAT & Payroll and liaise with auditors on CT returns.
  • Provide client payment terms on jobs, in conjunction where necessary, with the General Manager.
  • Manage monthly & yearly stock counts.
  • Liaise with company's insurance broker as required re fleet and commercial cover.
  • Monitor tender opportunities & assist with tender applications where required.
  • Manage the company purchase order system; Includes the issuing & processing of POs with sign off where needed from the General Manager.

Required Qualifications and Skills Requirements

  • The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, part qualified or qualified by experience with a minimum of 3 years work experience in a similar role.
  • Competent IT Skills to include but not limited to Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint. Having worked with SAGE accounting & payroll software, an advantage.
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work as part of a team.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good oral & written communication skills.
  • Be self-motivated, flexible on working hours to get tasks completed and capable of working to deadlines.
  • Open to take direction or correction.
  • Excellent written & spoken English.
