Infrastructure Manager - Identity & Access Management (IAM)
I'm working with a leading organisation that is looking to appoint an Infrastructure Manager - Identity & Access Management to take ownership of its enterprise IAM capability.
This is a senior infrastructure-focused role, reporting into the Head of Digital Trust, with responsibility for leading IAM operations across cloud and hybrid platforms. The successful candidate will manage a team of IAM Managers and Analysts and work closely with the Identity & Access Senior Architect to ensure IAM services are secure, resilient, and aligned with technical architecture and business requirements.
The role
The Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for the strategy, governance, and day-to-day delivery of IAM services, playing a key role in protecting systems, managing access risk, and supporting audit and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Setting and owning the IAM operational strategy in line with wider infrastructure and security objectives.
Leading IAM operations including access provisioning, certification, RBAC, and privileged access management using platforms such as CyberArk.
Ensuring IAM controls, processes, and documentation are robust, current, and audit-ready.
Driving automation and self-service improvements in collaboration with IAM Architecture and Engineering teams.
Supporting IAM services across cloud and hybrid identity platforms, including Microsoft Entra ID.
Leading access-related risk assessments and remediation activities.
Providing senior-level support for internal and external audits.
Managing, coaching, and developing a team of IAM Managers and Analysts.
The person
My client is looking for someone with a strong infrastructure or security background and proven experience leading IAM services in a complex, regulated environment.
They are seeking:
Extensive experience in IAM operations and governance, with hands-on exposure to enterprise IAM platforms.
Strong understanding of access lifecycle management, RBAC, and privileged access management.
Experience defining and operating IAM controls and governance frameworks.
Solid knowledge of risk management and compliance standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
Experience supporting audit and regulatory activity.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
At least one relevant professional certification (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA).
Nice to have
Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
Experience in professional services or other highly regulated sectors.
Automation or scripting experience (PowerShell, Python).
Experience delivering IAM transformation or improvement initiatives.
Cloud-first or hybrid IAM experience.
