Job Description

HR Manager - 12 month fixed term contract - County Laois

MCS Group is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a Global Manufacturing organisation, as they look to add an HR Manager to their team, on a full-time, fixed-term contract basis for 12-14 months.

The role:

This is role plays a key part in the delivery of the strategic objectives, which will contribute to and support the design, development and implementation of the HR agenda. The successful candidate will provide and lead an effective generalist HR function, providing support and guidance to the team on all people related matters.

The successful candidate must have significant hands on experience and knowledge of Irish legislation.

The main responsibilities:

  • Develop strong and collaborative working relationships within the site leadership team and the wider HR and training teams across the business.
  • Build positive relationships with other departments, utilising these positive relationships to assist with delivery of effective HR support and guidance.
  • Maintain strong lines of communication and develop links with external agencies.
  • Build and develop relationships with the local community, including partnering with local colleges and schools on various career development initiatives.
  • Develop a positive relationship with employees through regular and proactive engagement in all areas of the organisation.
  • Work collaboratively and constructively with the HR Director to develop the HR and People Strategy for the site.
  • Through effective leadership, promote a harmonious working environment based upon the building blocks of the company's vision and values.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all functions within the wider business.
  • To develop and lead the Site HR operational development plan, reporting on progress against HR objectives.
  • Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate HR Policies and Procedures in line with best practice, legal and organisational requirements.
  • Manage the recruitment process and on-boarding plan for all new employees, ensuring regular communication and performance reviews throughout the probationary period.
  • Contribute to companywide talent / succession planning processes.

Undertake any other duties as considered by the company to be within the scope of the role of the site HR Manager.

The ideal candidate:

  • 3rd level qualification in HR or related discipline.
  • Minimum CIPD qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of HR Generalist experience at HR Manager or HR Business Partner level.
  • Experience in development of a HR function, drafting policies, initiatives and embedding processes and procedures.
  • Significant experience in Employee engagement and development.
  • Significant hands on experience and knowledge of Irish legislation.
  • Manufacturing experience (Desirable).
