HR Generalist - Permanent - Westmeath

MCS Group is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a growing organisation, as they look to add an HR Generalist to their team, on a full-time, permanent basis.

The role:

Your role will be to assist in developing and delivering human resource projects, plans and strategies that improve overall organisational capabilities and performance and to ensure efficient personnel management and compliance with policies and regulations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an HR Officer to take the next step in their career and have full ownership of the HR function in a busy organisation.

The successful candidate must have significant hands-on experience and knowledge of Irish legislation.

The main responsibilities:

• Manage the recruitment process for colleagues from the interview stage through to onboarding and setting new starters up on the system.
• To ensure that all aspects of absence, timekeeping grievance and discipline are communicated and dealt with effectively.
• To ensure adherence to all relevant HR policies and a working knowledge of the legislation that supports these.
• Guide management and staff on company policies and employee relations issues.
• Manage all employee issues fairly and consistently.
• Facilitate new hire inductions and training and update records of staff.
• Ensure all training is up to date.
• Participate in HR Projects and initiatives aimed at improving processes and practices.
• Administration of payroll and benefits.

Undertake any other duties as considered by the company to be within the scope of the role of the site HR Generalist.

The ideal candidate:

• Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
• CIPD qualification (desirable).
• Experience in the implementation of HR policies and practices e.g. recruitment, absence management.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Retail experience (desirable).
