HR Advisor

We are pleased to be working with this established public-sector organisation in their search for a HR Advisor.
This role supports effective HR operations by managing employee relations cases, advising managers, leading recruitment and absence processes, supporting HR policy delivery, and ensuring legal compliance to promote workforce stability.
The role:
- HR Case Management: Handle HR cases (sickness, discipline, grievance, performance, tribunals) ensuring legal and policy compliance.
- Advisory Support: Provide expert HR advice to managers on policies, legislation, and best practices.
- Manager Development: Coach and train managers to improve HR skills and confidence.
- Strategic HR Input: Align operational HR issues with HR strategy and plans.
- Employee Relations: Represent HR in ER matters and maintain strong Trade Union relations.
- Recruitment & Absence: Lead recruitment processes and support proactive absence management.
- Policy & Projects: Implement HR policies, lead projects, ensure confidentiality, and drive improvement.
The Person
As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:
Essential:
- Have a degree in any discipline, and can
- Demonstrate experience in the areas below
OR
- Can demonstrate extensive experience in the areas below
- Hold current professional members of CIPD or be working towards
- Providing advice to Managers on HR matters including ER.
- Management of recruitment and selection processes.
- Experience of effectively working with a range of internal or external stakeholders including Trade Unions.
