District Electoral Area Officer- Public Sector

MCS Group are working with a large public sector team covering County Antrim in adding a district electoral officer to their team on a fixed-term contract basis for the next 10 months. This could be extended if funding becomes available.
Key Details:
- 10 month FTC - may be extended if funding is available.
- £20.08 per hour.
- Hybrid/Flexi working.
- County Antrim based role.
The Role:
Serve as the primary point of contact for enquiries from the public, elected representatives, and key community and partner organisations concerning local matters.
Support the delivery of a range of services including community development, good relations, community planning, and local area-based initiatives.
Oversee staffing and operational management of community centres, ensuring efficient front desk systems and increased community participation.
Develop and implement a local action plan addressing identified needs through programmes, outreach, and community engagement.
Foster collaboration across departments to provide coordinated responses aligned with community needs and priorities.
Build and maintain relationships with funding bodies, statutory agencies, and other stakeholders to support plan implementation.
Promote the positive image of local services and initiatives using various channels including social media and community events.
Encourage and assist community and voluntary groups to organise local events and projects, offering guidance and advice.
Manage budgets, monitor expenditure, and ensure services are delivered within financial and procurement regulations.
Maintain accurate records for all projects and priorities, ensuring proper evaluation and reporting processes are in place.
Provide leadership to staff, promoting continuous improvement, high performance, and effective team working.
Ensure compliance with health and safety, equality, and governance requirements while upholding the highest standards of conduct and accountability.
The Person:
- Applicants must have a degree, or post graduate qualification, and be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have two years' experience in at least one of the following areas: Community Planning / GR / PCSP / Development / Community Services function.
- AND two years' experience of partnership working with community and statutory organisations.
A sound understanding of the legislative framework governing the work of the Department, specifically including responsibilities in at least one of the following areas: Community Planning / GR / PCSP / Development / Community Services function.
A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a vehicle OR have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post.
