We're recruiting on behalf of the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) for a Data Processing & Analysis Officer within the Service Improvement Directorate.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting the organisation's digital transformation and performance reporting, ensuring NIFRS continues to deliver an effective and efficient service to the public. You'll contribute to research, data analysis, and reporting projects that directly influence operational strategy, risk profiling, and performance management across Northern Ireland.

The Role

As part of the Data Processing & Analysis Team, you will:

  • Deliver timely, accurate and professional data processing and analysis to support organisational objectives.

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand data needs, provide analytical insights, and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Collate, cleanse, and analyse internal and external datasets-producing meaningful insights that inform performance, risk, and service delivery.

  • Develop methodologies for digital and geospatial analysis, dashboards, and performance reports.

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the NIFRS Data Warehouse and digital reporting systems.

  • Ensure all work adheres to information governance, UK GDPR, and Data Protection standards.

  • Support Freedom of Information (FOI) and external data requests through statistical analysis and interpretation.

  • Assist with research and implementation of digital systems aligned with NIFRS's Digital, Data and Technology Strategy (DDaT).

  • Provide data analysis support for operational performance reviews, board reports, and public communications.

  • Maintain professional competence in digital and analytical techniques through continuous learning and collaboration.

The Person

To succeed in this role, you'll bring a mix of technical capability, analytical insight, and strong communication skills.

  • Educational backround in this area and relevant experience.

  • Proven understanding of data processing, analysis, and information management.

  • Experience in research and the ability to interpret, analyse, and present data.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel).

  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Full, current UK driving licence.
