UX/UI Designer

MCS Group is working exclusively with one of their closest clients in their search for a talented UX/UI Designer. You'll play a key role in designing intuitive, engaging web applications and websites - from discovery through to design. Slotting into a tight-knit and growing development team, you'll work closely with internal stakeholders, helping shape their ideas into user-friendly, enterprise digital products for the UK and EU insurance markets.

This is a hybrid role in Belfast city centre.

The Role

• The UX/UI Designer will lead and contribute to the design of web apps and websites from concept through to hand-off.
• You'll get the chance to hone your front-end development skills and touch on back-end development on occasion as part of this small development team.
• You'll collaborate directly with the software development team and internal stakeholders to understand user needs and business goals.
• You'll create user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma
• You'll conduct design reviews, iterate based on feedback, and maintain consistent visual design standards
• You'll work closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation of your designs
• Help evolve and maintain design systems and component libraries

What We're Looking For

• You'll have lots of commercial experience in UX and User Interface design
• You'll have a strong portfolio of web apps and responsive website designs
• You'll be proficient in Figma (including components, auto-layout, and prototyping)
• You'll have strong communication skills and be comfortable working directly with clients and presenting design rationale
• A strong understanding of user-centred design principles

Nice to Have

• Experience of having worked within a .Net environment previously (or worked closely alongside .Net developers)
• Strong HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills.
