MCS Group is seeking a Cyber Security Training and Awareness Lead to join their client, a thriving and well-established organisation with headquarters in Dublin. This position is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract into permanency as is standard in the organisation.

With multiple projects in the pipeline and a growing team, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Cyber Security Training professional to join a successful team in a newly created position.


The Cyber Security Training, Awareness and Business Engagement Lead will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive cyber security training and awareness programme for all organisation employees. This role is key to fostering a strong culture of cyber awareness and equipping staff with the knowledge to identify and manage cyber risks. The successful candidate will also collaborate closely with business units to ensure active engagement in cyber security and a clear understanding of their role in safeguarding the organisation's assets.

This is a hybrid role with with city-centre offices. Travel to deliver training across Ireland expected in moderation.

The Role

  • Design and implement a Cyber Security Training & Awareness framework that aligns with threat, risk and regulatory landscape.
  • Define and implement annual training and awareness plans for employees.
  • Create and deliver engaging, effective, and up-to-date training content, including elearning modules, workshops, phishing simulations, and in-person sessions.
  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through metrics, surveys, and simulated cyber-attacks (e.g., phishing simulations) to track progress and identify areas for improvement. Identify high-risk / high-value individuals and groups that require specialised cyber security training (e.g. the Board, IT Admins, HR).
  • Develop and deliver custom training to address the groups specific business needs and common attack methods used to target those groups.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in Data Protection, IT, HR, etc. to align training initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with the Business, encouraging greater trust and collaboration with the Cyber Security Team.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (e.g. Business Unit Leads, Cyber Security Champions, Security Architects, etc.) to identify opportunities to embed cyber security within business processes.
  • Develop and disseminate cyber security knowledge resources to raise awareness of emerging trends, vulnerabilities and best practices e.g. FAQs, newsletters.
  • Develop and present reports to senior management, highlighting key trends and any actions required.
  • Ensure that the training and awareness framework is aligned with relevant frameworks, standards and regulations (e.g., NIS2, GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
  • Leverage tools and technologies to enhance delivery and management of the cyber security training and awareness programme.



The Person (Essentials)

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Risk Management, Cybersecurity, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISM, CISA, CISSP, or CRISC are advantageous.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in cyber security training and awareness or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of cyber security training and awareness principles, leading practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with risk assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • You'll have the right to work in Ireland (EU Citizen/Stamp 4 Visa)
  • Happy to work in a hybrid model and be on-site for meetings as required


Salary

Starting salary is €81,000 with a leading benefits package including pension and increased holidays.
