Security Architect

Location: Belfast | Permanent

Our client is seeking a Security Architect to join their global Cyber Security Defense function - a team dedicated to safeguarding business-critical systems and protecting millions of users worldwide. This role is your chance to shape secure solutions from the ground up, working across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure resilience, trust, and innovation are built into every service.

With a remit that spans architecture, design, consultation, and security governance, you'll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a complex, large-scale environment. Collaboration sits at the heart of this position: you'll partner with developers, administrators, architects, and business leaders to embed best practices and create practical, effective security solutions that balance business needs with robust protection.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Security Architect, you'll:

  • Shape secure design - review systems, applications, and infrastructure to ensure security is built into every stage of delivery.

  • Collaborate widely - work with developers, administrators, and stakeholders to enable secure development, deployment, and operations.

  • Establish standards - define and evolve security guidelines, technical standards, and policies that support best practice across the business.

  • Promote awareness - contribute to training and awareness programmes, strengthening the security mindset across the organisation.

  • Consult & advise - provide expert guidance to internal customers, assessing requirements and tailoring solutions to real-world security challenges.

  • Innovate & influence - bring forward new ideas and approaches that keep pace with emerging threats, modern development practices, and evolving technologies.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for a mix of technical depth, consulting ability, and a genuine security-first mindset. You should have:

  • 5+ years' experience in information security roles, with a strong grasp of network and application security.

  • Knowledge of security frameworks, threat modelling, and secure development best practices.

  • Hands-on understanding of protocols, authentication methods, and web/mobile application security.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, able to work with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • A collaborative approach, thriving in cross-functional teams and multi-cultural environments.

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Advanced security certifications (CISSP, CISA, etc.).

  • Experience in consultancy, advising on technical security solutions.

  • Background in application development, vulnerability assessment, or penetration testing.

  • Familiarity with commercial cloud platforms, containers, and modern DevSecOps practices.

  • Exposure to SIEM, incident response, or security operations.

Why This Role?

This is a chance to do more than tick compliance boxes - you'll be influencing architecture and design at scale in an environment where security is treated as a business enabler, not an afterthought. You'll gain exposure to diverse technologies, contribute to the development of global security standards, and be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

If you're a Security Architect who thrives on tackling complex challenges, shaping secure systems, and working with stakeholders at every level, this role offers the scope and impact you've been looking for.
