MCS are delighted to be supporting the Northern Health and Social Care Trust in recruiting for a Band 7 Echocardiographer.
KEY RESULT AREAS / MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- With Trust Echocardiography Lead and colleagues ensures the day to day management and administration of the Echocardiography service throughout the NHSCT is carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Provide clinical/factual reports for all cardiac physiology investigations for which post-holder is appropriately accredited with complete autonomy.
- Map, analyse and redesign intra-departmental workflows and processes to optimise services to patients both at in-patient and out-patient level.
- Manage communication and foster good working relationships between Cardio-physiologists, Nurses, Cardiologists and other staff.
- Assist the Clinical Physiology Services Management Team in the future development of Cardiac Physiology Services in the NHSCT and advise on Business cases when required.
- Provide input during planning for work to upgrade the Department's facilities to ensure that the environment is suitable for Cardiac Clinical Physiology Services.
- To undertake other Cardiac Physiology duties as and when required.
- To delegate appropriately skilled staff to work areas as service demands.
- To lead by example in setting a high standard of personal work whilst acting as a member of a team to ensure the highest possible standards of work.
- To advise the Trust Lead Cardiac Clinical Physiologist on goods and service requirements of the Department, evaluating new products and making recommendations as to suitable products.
- To have assist Cardiac Clinical Physiology staff and undergraduates in order to develop their skills in Echocardiography and all other non-invasive diagnostics.
- To maintain appropriate supplies and consumables for the department to ensure service demands are met.
- To monitor staffing levels to ensure that the service functions efficiently and effectively and escalate issues to the Trust Clinical Physiology Manager or Trust Lead Cardiac Physiologist when necessary
Criteria:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience at Band 6 level working primarily in the discipline of Echocardiography
- One years' experience reporting on TTE's following full BSE accreditation
- Experience in using Microsoft computer packages to include Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint etc.
- Experience in using Hospital IT systems e.g. PAS, NIECR, Cardiology databases/reporting systems etc.
- BSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent
- RCCP/ACHCS
- Evidence of continuing professional development at postgraduate level to include full current BSE accreditation in Adult Echocardiography
- ILS certification (i.e carried out within previous 24 months of closing date for post)
