Associate Inspector - Criminal Justice Inspection Northern Ireland (CJI)

MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with Criminal Justice Inspection Northern Ireland (CJI) to recruit Associate Inspectors. CJI is focused on making the criminal justice system in Northern Ireland better by carrying out high quality independent, impartial, and evidence-based Inspections and Reviews. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to use their skills and experience to work across a range of organisations and review how they deliver services and outcomes that affect people every day.

CJI is Northern Ireland's independent statutory Inspectorate with responsibility for inspecting a range of criminal justice organisations including the police, prosecution, forensic, prisons and probation services as well as youth justice services and court administration. CJI has a strong reputation for delivering independent reports that add value and influence how criminal justice is delivered for everyone in Northern Ireland. The mission of the organisation is to secure a better justice system for all.

About the Role

The successful candidates will have the opportunity to use their skills and experience to work with an Inspection Team to effectively deliver Inspections or Reviews. Reporting to a Lead Inspector, you will be directly involved in working as part of an Inspection Team carrying out research and conducting fieldwork, then gathering and analysing evidence to inform assessment and Inspection Report content.

The successful candidates will be offered a professional and challenging work environment. You will be valued as an integral part of a skilled and multi-disciplinary team to help promote and enable change and improvement across the criminal justice system.

Those who wish to apply for the role should have demonstrable management experience with strong analytical skills including experience of primary and secondary research techniques to produce quality written reports. Experience of carrying out investigations and prosecution case file reviews is desirable as well as experience of the Northern Ireland criminal justice system.

There are no guaranteed working days, as the need for an Associate Inspector will be determined by the expertise, skills and capacity required to deliver the Inspection Programme as well as budget provision.
