MCS Group is working with a key public sector organisation as they look for a Assistant Project Manager to join the Finance Directorate. This critical role involves working closely with the Finance Project Manager to lead the implementation of the Finance aspect of the regional Equip Programme.
Equip is a major, HSC-wide initiative to replace the existing HR and Finance systems (HRPTS and FPL) with a single, modern, cloud-based solution across all functions, including HR, Recruitment, Pay, Finance, and Procurement.
Key Responsibilities
You will support the successful delivery of this high-profile transformation project, focusing on the Finance functions, by:
Project Delivery: Supporting the implementation of the Finance aspect of Equip, ensuring appropriate governance is in place.
Monitoring & Control: Managing systems for monitoring project progress, performance milestones, and benefits delivery; producing highlight reports, and maintaining Project Risks and Issue Logs.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Working effectively with the Finance Project Manager, the regional Equip Programme Team, and internal/external stakeholders across the HSC.
Resource Management: Monitoring project budgets and expenditure, and identifying resources required for successful delivery.
Policy Support: Supporting the development and review of Trust policies and procedures impacted by the new system.
Essential Criteria:
Candidates must clearly demonstrate on their application form that they meet one of the following qualifications and experience combinations:
A University Degree AND 2 years recent relevant experience*
An HND or equivalent AND 3 years recent relevant experience*
5 years recent relevant experience*
Relevant experience is defined as providing or supporting Programmes or Projects in a large scale business environment (i.e. at least 200 staff or an annual budget of at least £50 million).
In addition, you must hold a current full driving licence valid for use in the UK and have access to a car for business use (disability exception applies).
