Assistant Branch Manager

MCS Group are delighted to be working with an award-winning builders' merchant with an extensive branch network across Northern Ireland to recruit an Assistant Branch Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is commercially aware, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys working as part of a team. The successful Assistant Branch Manager will be confident engaging with customers, supporting field sales teams, managing key accounts over the phone, and stepping in to support on the trade counter when required.

Essential Skills & Criteria

• Background in manufacturing, construction, or timber/sawmill sectors
• Strong commercial awareness with the drive to increase sales and performance
• Positive and proactive attitude
• Adaptable with excellent time management skills
• A visible, supportive presence in the branch with the ability to coach and mentor colleagues

Key Responsibilities

• Hands-on trading with a focus on service, sales, and teamwork
• Building strong, long-term relationships with customers, clients, and suppliers
• Supporting field sales reps and wider sales teams
• Actively using CRM systems and managing sales metrics
• Engaging with customers at the trade counter and overseeing branch operations
• Assisting across departments as required
• Completing sales analysis and reporting to drive revenue and performance
• Monitoring and delivering against KPIs and targets
• Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays
