Assistant Accountant - Contract - North West

As Interim Assistant Accountant you will join a busy and fast paced Finance team on a contract basis (approx. 6 months). Our client is based in the Campsie area of Derry/Londonderry.

The Role:

▪ Working with and supporting the Accounts team to ensure accuracy and timeliness of work in accordance with pre-determined metrics.

▪ Assist in the production of management accounts.

▪ Variance Analysis.

▪ Prepare and Post Journals.

▪ Month-end Balance sheet reconciliations.

▪ Bank Reconciliations

▪ Completion of FP&A Supplementals.

▪ Preparation of KPI's.

▪ Prepare month-end accruals in a timely manner per the month end checklist.

▪ Support the processing on Payroll, Pension Scheme Administration and submission of HMRC returns

▪ Adhere to internal policies and good practice across the teams.

▪ Establish effective relationships with stakeholders.

▪ Contribute to the overall success of the Accounts team, promoting and maintaining a positive work environment.

▪ Ad hoc projects as required.

The Person

▪ Degree or equivalent in Accountancy or another relevant subject.

▪ Studying towards accounts technician or CIMA / ACCA

▪ 6 Mths Experience in a similar role.

▪ Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

▪ Ability to communicate with a wide range of contacts from corporate and external vendors to manufacturing employees.

▪ Proactive problem solving and results oriented, able to work on own initiative.

▪ Strong reporting skills.

▪ Ability to work productively and flexibly while meeting deadlines.

Desirable Criteria:

▪ Proven experience working in a fast-paced Finance function working to tight deadlines.

▪ Experience with SAP S4 HANA and other ERP Systems.

▪ Experience of Planful FP&A or other consolidation software.
