Overview
MCS are delighted to be partnering with a leading bespoke engineering company in Northern Ireland to recruit an Area Sales Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Area Sales Manager to join an innovative precision engineering manufacturer with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, tailor-made solutions to its clients. The successful Area Sales Manager will take responsibility for managing and developing sales across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and the wider UK market. As this is a field-based role, you can expect regular travel throughout the UK and Ireland to meet clients, build relationships, and identify new business opportunities. Given the highly specialised nature of the products, a strong technical understanding particularly within engineering or manufacturing will be a key advantage, but not essential.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Split time effectively between 1-2 days in the office and being out on the road, with a strong focus on client visits and relationship building.
- Implement and execute the sales strategy, identifying opportunities to grow market share and expand the client base.
- Drive revenue growth and play an active role as part of the senior management team, contributing to the overall direction of the business.
- Proactively open doors with larger organisations, building strong, long-term partnerships.
- Deliver a tailored, professional, and consultative approach to meet customer needs.
- Possess a degree of technical knowledge, experience with hydraulics is desirable but not essential.
- Show initiative, commercial acumen, and tactical thinking, with the ability to adapt and succeed in a competitive market.
Essential Skills and Criteria
- 5+ years' proven experience in sales, ideally within a technical or engineering environment.
- A strong technical background is highly advantageous, though not essential.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel frequently across the UK and Ireland.
- A self-starter with initiative, resilience, and a strong drive to achieve sales success.
- Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies, driving growth and market expansion.
- Target-driven mindset, with a track record of meeting KPIs and contributing to wider company objectives.
