Our client, a global technology leader within the capital markets space is looking to continue to expand their Belfast team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Application Support Engineer to join a high-performing global support function working at the cutting edge of market data and trading systems.

This role would suit someone with a strong background in Linux environments, networking, and financial trading applications who enjoys solving complex problems in fast-paced production settings.

The Role:

Working as part of an established global support team, you'll play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical market data and trading systems.

You will:

• Provide production support and issue resolution for clients using enterprise-level trading and market data products.

• Manage and monitor production environments, ensuring system health and optimal performance.

• Carry out software upgrades, proactive monitoring, and performance tuning of applications.

• Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and networking teams to resolve incidents and drive service improvements.

• Participate in weekend testing and exchange-driven initiatives where required.

• Contribute to ongoing automation and tooling enhancements for greater efficiency and resilience.

The Person:

• Strong knowledge of Linux administration and performance tuning.

• Proven experience supporting financial services, trading platforms, or market data systems.

• Good understanding of networking principles and Intel-based architecture.

• Exposure to scripting or programming languages (Python, C/C++, Java) would be advantageous.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a proactive and customer-focused approach.

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
