3rd Line Support Engineer

MCS Group is working with a leading professional services organisation in Belfast as they look for an experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer to join their global support team. This 3^rd Line Support Engineer will focus on maintaining and improving business-critical enterprise applications used across multiple regions. Strong SQL skills are essential, as is demonstrable experience in a similar, 3^rd line role. The successful 3rd Line Support Engineer will join on a temporary contract for 6 - 9 months.

The Role

• This team is the final point of escalation for all complex technical fixes and issues.
• You will provide advanced support for finance, CRM, business intake and other core systems.
• Investigate complex application and SQL issues and implement fixes or enhancements.
• Monitor databases, SQL replication and Always On configurations; action performance and security issues.
• Coordinate patches, updates and security remediation.
• Support hybrid environments across Azure AVS, Azure native and on-premises infrastructure.
• Produce clear technical documentation and contribute to change management.
• Participate in an on-call rota for critical applications.

The Person

• Prior experience in a similar 3rd line support position is essential, ideally in an enterprise environment.
• Strong SQL Server administration and scripting skills are essential.
• Experience with Windows Server/Linux and cloud/SaaS environments.
• Scripting ability (PowerShell, Bash, SQL).
• Confident troubleshooting with keen analytical skills.
• Due to the nature of this role, it is vital that you have experience in a client/user-facing role with solid customer service skills.
• Experience with Elite 3E or InTapp Open would be nice to have, but not essential.

Salary: Equivalent to £50k per annum (£25.65 per hour)
Location: Belfast - 2+ days per week in the office required
Duration: 6 - 9 months
