MCS Group is currently working alongside one of Northern Ireland's fastest growing online retailers, currently shipping to a global customer base, to recruit a Head of Ecommerce for their ever-expanding team of professionals.

This role will have overarching responsibility for everything to do with the company website. You will be the strategic leader for driving traffic, conversion and AOV. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will work closely with the directors, devising the strategy and model for how they double the business in the next three years.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Align the Commercial strategy with the directors, ensuring the business is scalable. Having a transformable impact on how the strategy is communicated and executed
  • Contribute at a high level to all strategic conversations, including topics that don't directly affect the Commercial team
  • Develop and manage the international sales growth strategy in line with company objectives by discovering new global sales channels and managing translations
  • Deliver a world class website user experience, driving conversion rate and average order value
  • Ensure the customer journey and brand messaging are joined seamlessly
  • Ensuring the company revolutionising our industry by trailblazing new commercial approaches and channel developments.
  • Prepare weekly analysis for the SLT, identifying trends and the market/consumer spending patterns
  • Present data with passion, being able to convey complex patterns into simple and easily digestible information
  • Keep up-to-date with market trends in relation to product, pricing and sales channel performance in the market
  • Develop a team of people who understand the value of data-driven decisions, and get them bought into your journey.
  • Collaborate with directors to set budgets for the commercial team. Present facts and evidence that align with your decision on growth, revenue and profit figures
  • Incentivise your team to want to win. Designate parameters for winning and get the team bought into your vision
  • Focus on people's strengths, not their weaknesses. You will have weekly 1-1's where you develop your team on a personalised level
  • You will create training for the wider group on the knowledge you have acquired in your career to advance the team on a bigger scale.



Essential Criteria:

  • 5 years leading an e-commerce function in a fast-paced market.
  • 2 years' experience within a focused B2C digital marketing communications environment
  • Demonstrable track record of growing sales on a company's website that doesn't include marketplaces
  • A strategic level thought process, who thinks about the business as a whole, and how each decision will impact each person in the various different departments
  • The ability to communicate at all levels. Whether you are chairing a SLT meeting or gaining expertise from the warehouse operators, you can adjust your communication style to suit the situation
  • You're competitive - you want to win
  • You think big and move fast. Choices need to be made, better to move fast and take risks, than to hesitate and miss opportunities
  • You challenge people with respect - not every idea is going to work. It is your job as a senior team member to bring your innovative ideas and opinions to the table, even if this means they conflict with other team members
