Trainee Accountant

MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with a very successful FMCG based in Belfast as they seek to recruit a trainee accountant on a full time, permanent basis.

The Trainee Accountant will provide support to the finance department in all areas of management and financial reporting, with an emphasis on the production of the weekly and monthly management accounts. They will support the finance team in the quarter-end hard close, forecasting and budgeting processes, the weekly, periodic and monthly reporting requirements and with the timely and accurate reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.

Key Responsibilities of the Trainee Accountant Include:

• Production of weekly management accounts to strict timelines
• Production of aspects of the periodic management accounts
• Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports to support the wider business
• Support the forecast and budget process
• Support during audits (both statutory and internal audits)
• Support the hard close process and completion of balance sheet reconciliations as required
• Any other reports/information as requested by the Management Accountant to support the finance team/wider business

What You Need to Succeed:

• Degree level education or AAT / Part Qualified
• Commitment to join CIMA within 3 months of joining and undertake to complete a minimum of 2 exams per year (an educational support package is provided as part of the role)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
