The Role:
We are currently seeking a driven Sustainable Construction Specialist to fill a critical position within our client's construction division. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in orchestrating and overseeing various facets of sustainability-related initiatives across ongoing and upcoming projects. This role is instrumental in ensuring our client's projects not only meet but exceed the highest environmental standards.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this role as someone who embodies impeccable organisational skills and unwavering efficiency. They must possess the ability to adeptly manage their time and workload, consistently meeting project deadlines. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are paramount, as the candidate will be tasked with engaging with diverse stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, through meetings and workshops.
Moreover, a deep-seated understanding of sustainability assessments, planning strategy, energy and sustainability statements, as well as familiarity with circular economy principles, life cycle assessment, net-zero standards, and other environmental methodologies are essential prerequisites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the BREEAM Accredited Professional (AP), taking proactive measures to implement their recommendations and fulfil requirements.
- Diligently review and oversee trackers, reports, and checklists pertinent to BREEAM compliance.
- Play an integral role in compiling and presenting comprehensive BREEAM evidence for projects.
- Forge and maintain harmonious relationships with clients and subcontractors, ensuring a productive working environment.
- Lead meetings and workshops as necessitated by project demands.
- Execute administrative duties associated with this pivotal role.
Candidate Qualifications:
Essential:
- Third level qualification in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated experience of at least three years within the construction industry.
- Knowledge of sustainability assessments, planning strategy, energy and sustainability statements, circular economy principles, life cycle assessment, net-zero standards, and other environmental methodologies.
- Adept at maintaining a high degree of organisation, efficiency, and self-motivation.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in projects that achieved BREEAM certification.
- Additional experience in circular economy principles, life cycle assessment, net-zero standards, or other environmental methodologies is highly regarded.
