MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for one of Belfast's most prestigious engineering organisations.

With huge success already achieved and growth planned for their future, this is a unique opportunity for someone who has strong Design Engineering experience to support the development and growth of future products from Design through to Manufacture.

The role:

As the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the conceptual development and detailed design of mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for a range of products. The role will focus on the mechanical design and integration of complex electromechanical systems, including electrical energy storage, alternative fuels, actuation systems and power delivery systems. The role will be fast paced and dynamic, commanding high levels of autonomy and organisation.

The successful candidate:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline is essential with 5 years design engineering experience, including R&D analysis, prototyping and testing.
• Technical design skills gained through previous experience from concept generation through delivering full design drawings for manufacture on critical projects.
• 3D Design experience using CATIA V5/V6 or a similar 3D CAD package.
• Ability to produce detailed drawings for manufacture with a firm grasp of a range of manufacturing processes and material selection.

It would be desirable if you have knowledge or experience of:

• Hydraulic system development
• Experience with model-based design and simulation / CAE techniques
• Finite element analysis and an appreciation of real-world correlation.
• 5+ years in a marine / motorsport / aerospace setting
