Senior Design Engineer

MCS Group is proud to be working with an international leader in Manufacturing to recruit a Senior Design Engineer based in Meath, Ireland/ Manchester.

As a design engineer, you will work closely with a high-profile client base to design fire protection sprinkler systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design fire protection sprinkler systems for high-profile clients.
• Produce CAD drawings for electrical and mechanical installation work
• Responsible for all aspects of sprinkler design, including hydraulic calculations, shop drawing preparation, and stock listing.
• Design and layout of fire protection systems to meet LPC/NFPA/FM criteria
• Review and production of detailed fire protection schematics such as Fire Sprinkler Protection, Foam enhances fire protection, Gas Protection, firewater mist protection, inert gas protection, and special hazard fire protection
• Mentoring projects and design colleagues
• Creation of installation/construction and fabrication drawings.
• Decipher information received from various formats (sketches, BIM execution plans, architectural drawings.

Essential Criteria:

• Previous experience as a Fire Sprinkler Industry Designer.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, 2D AutoCAD, and Revit MEP software such as AutoSPRINK or similar
• Capable of performing Clash detection using Navisworks and Revit interface check/
• Ability to extract BOQs and fabrication drawings from Revit.
• Experience in working on large commercial fire protection systems.
• Skill management of project schedules and deadlines.
• Familiar with reading and effectively interpreting architectural/engineering plans, schematics, and design drawings for Irish and European projects.
• Must be eligible to work in ROI

Desirable:

• Relevant third-level qualification (Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering)
• Knowledge of BIM 360
