Senior Data Engineer

MCS Group is thrilled to be partnering alongside a growing technology powerhouse as they seek to add a Senior Data Engineer to their energetic team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the business continues to have access to the latest data insights using the latest technologies.

(Hybrid - 2/3 days per week on-site - North Dublin)

Responsibilities:

• You should be dedicated to delivering with speed, ensuring high-quality results, and have a strong enthusiasm for data and the potential value it can offer.
• Collaborate with the data team on cloud platforms like GCP to establish a specialized data architecture that meets the evolving needs of the organization and its partner companies.
• Develop and sustain an efficient data pipeline architecture.
• Identify, design, and implement improvements to internal processes by automating tasks, optimizing data workflows, and redesigning infrastructure for scalability.
• Construct the infrastructure required for the efficient extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from various sources using Python, SQL, and GCP technologies.
• Engage in concept development, case analysis, and collaborate closely with product teams and business units.
• Analyze operational challenges and change requests.
• Draft technical specifications and provide work estimates.
• Develop solutions and oversee their deployment into production environments.
• Generate documentation to support the implemented solutions.
• Conduct peer reviews and collaborate with other team members to ensure quality outcomes

Requirements:

• 5+ years of data engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of Python (Java will be considered)
• Strong experience with GCP or AWS.
• ETL tool experience essential
• Kafka, Terraform and Apache Airflow experience preferred.
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
• Capable of setting priorities on their own, adhering to deadlines, and handling changing priorities for client deliverable's.
• Creative and flexible, both independently and in a team environment.
• Results-oriented and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Competitive salary of up to €80,000 DOE. This exciting project will start in March so please ensure availability before applying.
