Job Description
AWS Engineer - Join My Client's Infrastructure Transformation Journey
Company Overview
My client, a leading provider of software services in the Fin-Tech industry, has recently undergone a series of strategic acquisitions. Now, they're on a mission to bring their teams together and create a cohesive infrastructure that will drive their future success, and they are currently seeking an experienced AWS Engineer to become a vital part of this exciting journey. This role is based in London.
Role Overview
As an AWS Engineer at my client's organisation, you will be at the forefront of shaping their cloud landscape. Although they have an existing cloud presence, they require an experienced engineer to re-engineer and optimise their infrastructure. This role is critical as they aim to consolidate their newly acquired companies environments and streamline operations.
Role Requirements
Linux Expertise: A strong background in Linux is essential for this role, as a significant portion of the work revolves around Linux systems. Many development teams are familiar with Linux, and container-style deployments are commonplace.
Infrastructure as Code: You should be comfortable with infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and a track record of implementing them in previous roles are highly desirable.
Financial Markets Exposure (Preferred): While not mandatory, exposure to financial markets would be advantageous. Experience in industries such as Telco, Insurance, or Pharmaceuticals at an enterprise scale may also relevant.
Client-Centric Attitude: This role involves serving clients and demands a high-paced approach. You should be comfortable handling the pace and demands that come with a client-focused role.
Global Experience: You will be guiding and supporting teams across the globe, including India, Asia, and the US. Therefore experience in a global environment is a plus.
Technical Leadership: The role involves working closely with technical peers and providing technical leadership.
Team & Culture
You'll be part of my client's Markets team, a division within the company. This team provides a suite of software products, primarily SAAS, to financial markets. They often act as the bridge between the buy and sell sides of financial markets. The team operates globally, with around 20 team members operating from the UK.
The London office boasts a dynamic software house culture. It features an open-plan layout, excellent facilities, a central location, and a relaxed environment. While the atmosphere is friendly and cooperative, individual roles often come with high-pressure responsibilities. The team also enjoys social gatherings on specific days.
Salary & Benefits
The salary for this role is up to £115,000, with an additional bonus structure. Details regarding benefits will be shared in the benefits brochure.
