Role Overview

The Quality & Feed Safety Specialist will manage quality systems, lead compliance efforts, and ensure adherence to food and feed safety regulations. The role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements
• Lead feed safety initiatives, investigating and resolving quality issues
• Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with ISO, HACCP, EFISC-GTP, and other industry standards
• Work closely with suppliers, shippers, customers, and regulatory bodies to uphold high standards of quality and safety
• Manage sample testing processes, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of results
• Analyse trends in product quality and safety, implementing corrective actions where necessary
• Provide technical expertise to internal teams, delivering training and guidance on feed safety best practices

Key Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Experience in quality assurance within a food or feed processing environment
• Strong knowledge of feed safety, regulatory compliance, and quality standards
• Experience managing audits, liaising with regulatory bodies, and ensuring industry best practices
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to take initiative and drive improvements
• Excellent communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams

Desirable:

• Third-level qualification in Food Science, Agri-Science, or a related discipline
• Relevant professional development such as GAFTA, HACCP, or ISO accreditation
• Experience with ERP systems, data analysis, and reporting tools
• Knowledge of sustainability initiatives within the agri-food sector

Additional Information

• The role requires occasional travel within Ireland and ad hoc business trips
• A full valid driving licence and access to a car are essential

This role is for a 12 month fixed term contract with potential to be extended slightly.
