Procurement Officer

The Role will consist of:

• Overall responsibility for the effective and efficient operation of the tendering and quotation process inclusive of evaluation, negotiation and recommendation of tenders to appropriate committee
• Providing procurement advice on procurement policy and procedures
• Assisting in the preparation and review of specification and tender documents
• Maintenance of procurement information on systems such as procurement policy, tender opportunities, contracts and contract management policy
• Liaising with external procurement bodies regarding procurement of goods and services
• Developing partnerships with internal and external customers and stakeholders to promote and foster relationships and identify opportunity for continuous development and improvement
• Maintain contract management framework
• Assist in the development, implementation and review of strategic procurement policy

The Person

As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:

Essential:

• At least 3 years relevant procurement experience and hold or be working towards a membership of CIPS OR 4 years relevant procurement experience and willingness to work towards achieving a membership
• Working knowledge of best practise procurement procedures and achieving best value for money

Desirable:

• Experience of working within public sector procurement
