Procurement Officer

The role:

• Assist the procurement office in delivering fair procurement services promoting value for money, adopting best practise and ensuring operation within a legal framework.
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to advise on processes, policies and procedures to comply with relevant contract regulations.
• Keep abreast of changes in legislation and policies.
• Assist with and advise on compliance reviews of existing and new contracts.
• Maintain procurement systems and records.
• Assist budget holders with contract management through training, development and consultation.
• Assist departments in the preparation of business cases.
• Assist with the preparation of procurement and contract management reports.
• Develop, issue and evaluate quotations and tenders.

The Person

As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:

Essential:

• Be working towards a Level 4 MCIPS qualification with at least 1 years' related experience with procurement, tendering and contract management processes.

OR

• Be able to demonstrate 2 years' relevant experience in the above.
• A broad working knowledge of procurement tendering and contract management processes.
• Experience in the writing and presentation of reports.

Desirable:

• Experience working in a public sector procurement environment.
• Experience applying procurement procedures and managing procurement processes including tenders and quotations.
