People Partner - Greater Belfast - Public Sector
MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with a large public sector organisation based in Greater Belfast, who wish to recruit for a People Partner in their Employee Relations team on a full-time, permanent basis.
The role:
The People Partner will provide broad HR advice and guidance to the organisation by acting as an internal consultant to own the relationship between the Resources Directorate and other departments. The postholder will play a key role in Employee Engagement and have responsibility for promoting progressive partnership with Trade Unions and for supporting the drive for continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities:
- To provide proactive specialist HR advice and support to managers in the application of core HR policies and procedures, terms and conditions, employment law and HR best practice.
- To contribute fully, at a strategic level, to the operations of the Resources Directorate in order to achieve the objectives of Corporate and Operational Plans.
- To ensure effective working relationships with customers, key stakeholders and the wider HR team.
- To contribute fully to risk management framework, accountability and performance management framework, quality management framework and communications management framework.
- The postholder will manage the implementation of initiatives, in relation to Employee Engagement and areas of Employee Relations activities, and promote genuine partnerships with Trade Union and provide meaningful consultation.
- Consult on policies and play a key role in working with the Trade Unions to maintain effective working relationships.
- Provide sound advice based on policy for all employee relations matters.
- Support the transformation agenda in the Resource function to deliver a partnership approach with Business Managers; attending monthly meetings with Business managers to ensure appropriate People plans are developed and implemented

The successful candidate:
- Level 5 CIPD qualified or above
- Minimum of 2 years' experience dealing with employee relations issues and working with trade unions.
- At least 2 years' experience as an Hr Generalist with experience supporting Change Management and succession planning
- Experience of designing and implementing Recruitment & Selection policy to meet 1,3 & 5 year plans.
- Access to a form of transport to fulfil the duties of the role
