Job Description
The Role
- Process monthly payrolls, including overtime, promotions, and allowances, ensuring strict deadlines are met.
- Assist the Employee Support Manager with HR/payroll-related projects and identify/rectify payroll discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate employee data in HR systems and ensure prompt processing of transactions, including retrieving legacy payroll data.
- Handle ad hoc payroll/HR queries and process all HMRC transactions, ensuring statutory/voluntary deductions are reconciled and paid.
- Maintain accurate records of employee absences and support colleagues with training and knowledge sharing.
- Provide customer support for payroll, employee relations, recruitment, pensions, and more, ensuring high service quality and timely responses.
- Maintain and update employee records, process resignations and special leave, and offer administrative support for benefits and salary schemes.
- Administer new employee information for payroll, pensions, and other departments, while supporting additional HR-related administrative tasks as needed.
The Person
As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:
Essential:
By the closing date for applications candidates must have:
- A minimum of five GCSEs, Grade C or above (to include English Language and Maths), or equivalent
- A minimum of two years' experience directly processing payroll for 250+ employees. Experience should include inputting and processing payrolls to strict deadlines;
- A minimum of two years' experience working within a high-volume HR function including:
- Providing advice and support to employees on terms and conditions of employment, HR/Payroll policies and procedures and statutory payments.
- Liaising with external stakeholders - HMRC, Pensions bodies, Trade unions, Courts, systems providers, professional services providers;
- Liaising with internal stakeholders - HR advisors / managers, operational departments, Finance and other internal departments;
- Experience using Oracle HR/Payroll modules or similar systems.
Desirable:
- Experience of using reporting tools (e.g. Business Objects, OBIEE);
- Working knowledge of Oracle HR/Payroll or similar HR and Payroll modules with experience of testing system changes.
- Hold CIPP Year One.
