Maintenance Supervisor/ Planner

MCS Group is proud to be working with a Brand name in Transport, to recruit a Maintenance Supervisor/ Planner to join their successful team.

As the maintenance supervisor/ planner, you will be responsible for the asset renewal programs in the main workshops to ensure heavy maintenance, refurbishment, and overhaul of traction and rolling stock are carried out in a safe, cost-efficient manner.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop, produce, and deliver asset renewal programs for heavy maintenance and overhaul of traction. As well as rolling stock, including major sub-component overhaul.
• Ensure accurate record keeping of material and labour costs.
• Provide support in the development, production, and delivery of a budget for the main workshops, to develop a self-accounting unit within the engineering division
• Line management of the engineering staff
• Implement and expand safety systems
• Management of the ISO QMS
• Develop both internal and external customer and supplier relations

Essential Criteria

• Possess an HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a mechanical/ electrical engineering discipline
• 4 years' experience in heavy engineering
• Experience in maintenance
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience developing and managing program budgets
• Full clean driving licence
• Flexibility

Desirable Criteria

• Experience working with Quality and Safety Management Systems
• Knowledge of continuous improvement systems and their application
• Experience managing projects
