Learning & Development Officer - Award winning organisation

MCS Group is thrilled to be exclusively working in partnership an award winning manufacturing organisation in Craigavon, as they wish to appoint a Learning & Development Officer on a fulltime, permanent basis.

The role

Reporting to the L&D Lead and H&S Manager, the Learning & Development Officer will be responsible for evaluating training needs on site, reviewing current needs, practices and delivering a training development plan. The Learning & Development Officer will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support the delivery of a professional Learning & Delivery service.

The main duties and responsibilities:

  • Monitor and implement learning and development needs following analysis of skills gaps and business needs
  • Ensuring the timely coordination and delivery of company inductions for all new starters
  • Support and lead on L&D projects and strategy on site
  • Ensure training is recorded appropriately on the learning management system
  • Delivering in-house training sessions when required, including compliance refresher training
  • Managing all practical training requirements and external course bookings
  • Building and maintaining effective links with training providers
  • Working with different business teams on embedding a learning culture within the organisation
  • To ensure systems are accurate and continuous improvement measures implemented
  • To support with succession planning
  • Building strong, collaborative working relationships across the business and with external stakeholders

The successful candidate:

Essential:

  • 3rd level education or similar
  • A training/ L&D qualification
  • 2 years of working in an L&D environment
  • A proven track record in the design and delivery of a blended L&D service offering learning outcomes with a tangible business impact
  • Naturally creative and passionate about Learning and Development, with strong communication and interpersonal skills and an enthusiastic approach
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills and able to motivate and inspire diverse groups of staff
  • Experience of managing conflicting deadlines and priorities to meet the requirements of a large, complex site

Desirable:

  • Work experience in a Manufacturing/FMCG organisation.
  • Experience with supporting and developing people.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects.
