Lead Software Engineer

MCS Group is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer on behalf of a leading organisation based in Belfast. This role offers the opportunity to lead technical teams, drive innovation, and collaborate across multiple products.

This role is permanent and based in Northern Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily stand-ups and product team meetings
• Guide software development practices, including paired programming and test-driven development.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders
• Lead the design and architecture of scalable, high-performance applications.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines to deliver software with security and best practices.

Essential Skills:

• Demonstrated experience in leadership positions
• Managing a team of direct reports
• Strong background in large-scale software development (e.g., Java, NoSQL, REST).
• Expertise in CI/CD and TDD
• Cloud platforms, Terraform, Kubernetes and Docker are a bonus!
