MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting a Lead Controls and Automation Engineer for our successful Life Science client based in Larne. You will be initially part of a project team of professionals and will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of automation and process-handling systems.

As the Lead Controls and Automation Engineer you will:

• Lead a small team of Controls and Automation Engineers
• Implement control systems delivery within projects activity covering verification and qualification to meet regulatory compliance, including IQ and OQ writing, verifying, and execution
• Provide Production support, troubleshooting and implement corrective action across electrical and automation breakdown issues to limit downtime
• Implement electrical maintenance requirements for equipment and infrastructure
• Understand production OEE and drive strategies for continuous process improvement to machine uptime, quality improvements and cycle time reduction
• Execute and document source code reviews

You will be:

• Qualified to a minimum HNC level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline
• Have experience in working within a Pharmaceutical industry
• Experienced in Industrial instrumentation, PID loops and calibration processes
• Experienced in Solid Controls, Instrumentation, Servo motion, PID Loop and PLC fault-finding
• Process control experience using Temperature, Pressure, Conductivity, pH, Level, Vacuum, Volume / Mass Flow and TOC analytics
• Experienced with IEC 61131-3 standard PLC programming languages. LAD, STL, FBD
• Experienced with at least one of the following PLC software platforms, Allen Bradley RS Logix, Studio 5000, Siemens Step 7 Simatic manager, TIA portal
